After playing a couple gigs down here in smaller venues I have come to the conclusion that I'm an idiot. Why am I lugging around a 4X12 cab, a very heavy Bogner head and a giant pedalboard with no help at 68 years old? Makes no sense, so I have down sized to this, a Marshall JTM 30 with 2 10's, a much smaller pedalboard and 2 guitars (Which I vary.) Now I'm not killing my back, lowering my blood pressure and heart rate and making the whole experience a whole lot lot easier.......Yay me!

Congrats on figuring out what works and is easier on the back. I'm down to three trips to load in/out. I can do it in two but as I get older, 67 soon to be 68, the weight of the gear plays a major role. The three loads are 1) main bass and a spare, 2) small 1x10 combo amp, 3) gear bag with cables, a couple of pedals, power bar, stands, etc. If the combo amp doesn't cut it for the venue, which is rare, I go DI into the PA with the amp as a monitor.

I had one of those, I traded in on other gear.

Downsize Good!
When I did worship team as I’ve stated. I primarily played acoustic. I did do electric a few times and lugged my Traynor. But I think if I ever started playing at church again and played electric. I’d go in with a multi effect box and plug into the board. No amp needed. Realizing maybe not ideal from a tonal POV…. But not really there to put on a concert. There to lead music so congregation can sing along.

I couldn't deal with worship team politics. I did it for 5 months. Bless them, but that level of control is not for me.

No Gibson guitars, only Fenders
No red guitars of any kind
Bad Cat amps in a locked vault under the stage that cannot be adjusted except by the worship leader
Only pedals from an approved list allowed

Too much structure for me.

For me, a head and a 22 pound 2x12 IS downsized!!!!

I have a variety of different sized rigs. Even that 2x10 combo is hefty. I have some 1x12 combos that suit well and can stack atop another 1x12 for a mini stack. The 6101 Marshall and Mesa Mk V 35.
Otherwise some 2x12 combos that are heavy but easier to move around up stairs than a 4x12. Also some heads and a couple 2x12 cabs.
Depends on the venue and how much I am hauling.
That JTM looks fabulous!

I have an SKB version of these as well and it is indeed heavy. I went to 2 different Voodoo labs boards, a larger and smaller one.

All depends on the venue.

No politics at my church. Play what you owned. Only real issue we had was one guy who’d bring his AC30 and was blowing people off the stage. When he swapped it out for an AC15, all was good.

Only needed to stuff in my Ovation, a gig bag of stuff and my small pedal board. All fit on the passenger side. Bags set on seat. Guitar case went in small end in footwell. Butt end against seat back.

I can get a DoubleNeck and two other guitars on top of my folded rear seats with enough room for the 34" studio pedalboard along the front edge.

In the trunk, I can easily fit a large combo amp or my 2x12 cabinet.

A DSL40C is pretty tight from a height standpoint, but doable.
