Well boys and girls...

Are they having you use any kind of massager for your calves to prevent atrophy and aid with circulation? My wife had them after hip hop replacements to help with her physical therapy.
No, not yet anyway.
I have about only 2 weeks left until I am allowed to bear weight on that limb, so I assume that I will be regaining here in no time. I've cheated a couple times and put a little tiny bit of weight on it while I was standing with my walker. Man, it felt goood! I know it will be weak, and I know that once I get cleared for full on PT it maybe hurts, but I can't wait to get back to using it.

I‘m surprised they haven’t had you using the calf massagers. Especially since you can’t move around. They are good at doing what they’re designed for, keeping blood flowing and preventing other problems down the road.

Well I can get around a bit, and I try to as much as I can. I'm getting pretty damn good at hopping on my left leg with my walker out in front of me lol. But I do spend a great deal of time in chairs. Recliner, wheels, passenger seat in my mom's or wife's rides lol
While I was still in the hospital, and for the subsequent surgeries as well, they did put a cuff around my lower leg that would kinda massage the calf. Was very much like the BP cuff and it had multiple chambers that would all inflate and deflate. But no massagers otherwise.

That was the type I was referring to. Maybe they felt it wasn’t necessary after your hospital stay.
