A long time ago (when the earth was green) I had the thought that one day I'd like to get a certain type of guitar. The kind of guitar I'd never owned, and only tried in passing a couple of times in 10 years or so.
It was always on the back burner as I started to fill the harem with various other types and styles including singlecuts, soapbars, piezo, Wood library, and single coil examples. I know... tough problem... At one point I acquired a 594 soapy, and a Wood library 594 and fell in love with the format.

Then it happened.
As usual I have one eye on Reverb, and the other eye on Craigslist looking for deals. I know I'm not alone here. And there it was. This was probably 6 weeks ago. An absolutely pristine, mint example at a price that was way too good to be true.
But I waited... even though the price was ridiculously low.
Two weeks later he lowered the price, and then lowered it again a week after that! What the???
The struggle ended on Tuesday when I got a bonus at work. I contacted the seller on Wednesday, offered him less than his asking price and he took it.
I left work early and picked it up on the way to practice. I felt like a bandit. It's absolutely mint.
I couldn't resist... I am weak... Ugh...

So... that's the story of how I got here, and here is the result.

A 2021 PRS 594 Hollowbody II. This is a non 10 top, but I don't care about that.

I can imagine the interaction with a cranked amp!
It's lively, but in a manageable way.
Being a solid carved maple top as opposed to laminate it is slightly less prone to feedback.
That said, at least 3 times at practice we would end a song with "the big finish" and instead of someone else it was me with the natural feedback.
This thing is glorious with gain! :p

Thanks man!
Why'd ya sell it?
I think I've reached the saturation point. Maybe I need to sell something...

I've given up on the guitar, I just can't learn to play well enough. I don't think it's in my wheelhouse... I gave it ten years of my life and neglected my knife making. I'm focused on making knives now and I'm progressing very well at it!

I really wanted to be able to play but my brain and hands won't cooperate.

Striking guitar. PRS makes some very nice looking guitars.

In 09 when I decided it was time for my first electric. Picked up a few PRS’s and played them in Chicago Music Exchange. Being clueless at the time and not knowing a thing about electrics…. Other than they had strings like my acoustic and the same chords worked…… my initial impression was that i didn’t like the feel. Oddly. I liked the short lived solid bodies Taylor was making at the time and SGs. Ended up with a G400.

All that said….. I should probably try again. Problem is, I’d most likely love it and have to buy one.

I do get that Chris. I’ve been at this since 1973. With the exception of the 10 years I played on my churches worship team, I’ve just been a bedroom player. And that’s all I’ll ever be. As it turns out. I’m okay with that.

One day in these hallowed TTR halls I was commenting on the immense talent we have here and compared I’m just a hack at best. Mr. Herndon pointed out to me that I wasn’t being fair to myself. Regardless my talent level, I was putting chords and notes together to make music. And thats better than the overwhelming percentage of the population can do.
