Well boys and girls...

Thanks guys, I appreciate it.
Last night was long and brutal.
The orthopedic surgeon just paid me a visit, I'm not going home today (thank goodness, I don't think I can get out of bed again yet, let alone climb into a vehicle and make the 3 hour trek down bumpy ass I-90) but if the swelling continues to recede at this rate I could be getting the surgery as early as Thursday.

Before I said I was terrified of the surgery, now I can't wait to get it done and get these damn pins out of my other bones.

The surgery part is a breeze McB. They put you out (I've been under the knife 5 times and have always said it's the best sleep I ever got), when you wake up your knee is numb as hell. They'll keep you medded up, Relax brother.
Well the first time wasn't too bad. They had to put these pins in my femur and tibia in order to make everything straight again, and that was pretty easy. I remember them telling me to breathe the gas and the next thing I knew, they were waking me up and I had long metal rods sticking out of my leg. Pretty easy. Instead of being the best sleep I ever had though, I felt like I was just being held one step from death lol
But yes, I am looking forward to getting fixed up and being on my way to recovery.

Blinkie, I remember being nervous about getting an IV while I laid on the gurney waiting to go under the knife for my foot.

I asked the Anesthetist if I was going to get an IV and if they hurt. He said likely so that one was forthcoming and asked me why I was asking. I told him I never had one before and was nervous about getting one. He then laughed and said, " here you are with a 3 inch nail through your foot and you are worried about a little IV." LOL

Oh yes, I get that totally. I HATE needles. HATE em!
Here I am with a busted up leg, and yet I cringe when they come to do a blood draw lol

Blinkie, I was like that too, but am now getting more used to it since I got diagnosed with Diabetes at Thanksgiving.
3 blood draws since, Yuck. BUT 0 light headed or passing out issues.

Previous blood letting experiences, I was usually weak and drained from illnesses. So, once I got pricked, my toughness abandoned me.
Stitches in brow without numbing, nail in foot for 4+ hours, bearable, finish nail thru finger, cut head of nail and pulled through with dikes, ointment and electrical tape and finish the work day. But, come take a wee bit of blood out of arm and I've been known to see stars and almost get nauseous or do the passing out part.

Yep, me too, at times.
I do whatever I can to not look at it or see it happening and that seems to help.

Hilldrags “Hill Shooter” like sand drags up hill.
We have a pretty gnarly hillclimb event just north of Sunnyside near Hanford around here. Looks fun, but those hills are always much more steep than the pictures and videos make them look!
I think you have posted video of that thing at some point a while back didn't you? I seem to remember that maybe you did

Jumpin' Jeez...
I just came back from getting bloodwork done and I hate that.
Dude... hope you get some relief soon!

I think things are looking up!

I talked PT into letting me kill two birds with one stone...they're going to make me get out of bed again and stuff, but I asked if we could get a bedside commode in here so that I don't have to take a dump in a bedpan. This way I can do some PT, and take care of business without having to make some poor nurse clean up after me.

Yeah okay....this sucks big time now. I don't think I'm gonna get the dilaudid back...I don't really understand why the PT lady wanted to see if I could get out of bed and sit in a chair yet....I still have the big surgery to do yet...I think maybe they wanted to see if they could send me home and free up a bed until it is time for surgery? But it made things worse than they were.

There was a shift change and the new nurse came in to check my vitals, and when I woke up it was excruciating!
Man , I hope figure it out.

Small wins... I like it!

I've been reviewing the video footage of your accident.

It was probably not a good idea trying to get back on the bike...
