I like Nova too.
What a beautiful girl, so happy for you guys and her!!
Thanks, man. Believe me, I was not needing or looking for another dog.
But IME, the best ones find you, not the other way 'round, and she just kinda fell in our laps, so I feel pretty good about it. Our other two get along with her pretty well already, although our German Shepherd was a little bit unsure at first. But they're all friends now.

Well, let the games commence!

She's an escape artist. I built a 25'x25' pen to hold the dogs, and the new pup is the only one trying to get out lol
She had managed to get out overnight at the top half of the gate, between the gate and the post, after trying to burrow under it. She didn't run though, she was still here, happy as a clam to see me this morning.

So now I need to figure out how to augment my pen to keep her from digging. She is microchipped already, but she's friendly and people around here have been known to steal dogs, particularly friendly ones that look like they could be valuable to a dognapper.
When I was a kid, someone came and stole our Weimaraner, never saw her again. And a few years back, a friend with a Husky had his dog stolen by a neighbor of his, and the neighbor refused to give it back until the cops showed up and scanned for the chip. At least he got her back.

Khan, our German Shepherd, is kinda being a dick to her. He's not attacking or anything, but he is definitely trying to establish his dominance at every chance. I'm going to be busy trying to get him to accept his new pack mate. Taking them for walks together seems to help a lot. Roxy Anne, our Border Collie/Blue Heeler mix, is pretty indifferent, doesn't care a single bit. Funny thing is, is the new girl will soon be larger than Khan...and he's a pretty big boy. She's only 5 months old and nearly his size already.

So that's where we are now. This should be fun.

I like Sasha. Russian name for a Russian pup
In a way, that works..
She is a an Alaskan Husky, which is very different from a Siberian Husky and also different from it's larger counterpart, the Alaskan Malamute....
She is basically a mish-mash of different breeds that served their owners best on the jobs they were given.
Some were sled pullers, some were hunting dogs, etc....

I do like the idea of using traditional inuit or other first-nation or native names.....
