your lucky Jethro good on ya
... many of us are still slaves to the grind ..... I for one have given up the hope of retiring to late in the game and to many mistakes earlier in life --
Ive made my peace with it and have accepted it but Ill work till I drop -- if I am lucky enough--

Amen, Brother!!!!

Tell you what, my musical brother...I thank God everyday that I'm still able to work. I'm 56 and lost all my retirement in a divorce. I have no assets. My only real skill is making music. I'll probably have to work from now until doomsday.

I enjoy my work at Fender, but the real purpose behind that job is that it's 10 miles from home. When I was commuting to Hollywood, that was 1,500 miles a week and I took an enormous pay cut when I left, but I'm not spending 4 hours driving home and I'm sure there's fuel savings in there too.

But between my teaching job at the music academy, my contract salary to the band (18 months left in my contract) and my Saturday night gigs, I'm still pulling on $1,000 every Saturday.

Our family couldn't survive without my work in music...

Wanted to both like and sad face. Glad you enjoy your work! So many don't.

God bless you, Man...

May all your dreams come true!!!

Here are a few pics.

Here’s the entire setup. Guitar to mixer. iPad to mixer.
My setup is similar. Except that i use the older ZED10 and not the ZEDi. The older mixer allows me to use a Low Mid Scoop around 300 Hz thanks to its semiparametric mid eq which is not possible with the ZEDi10. (The latter is better for recording due to its 4 channel USB interface, i know...)

Bass (VI) into the mixer, PC into the USB interface. Listening with a Sennheiser HD650

This argument is like saying apples are better than plums. It is a matter of personal taste. Play the gear that makes you happy. If you like your gear you will play better. That is all that matters to me. I have to like my gear. Over many years I’ve come to realize that I like simple controls, light and reliable gear. As long as I can get a sound I’m happy with I’ll pick simple, light and reliable over other gear. The brand, the technology, where it’s made doesn’t really enter into the equation for me. That doesn’t mean I don’t like cool gear. I spend a lot of time browsing Craig’s List and local music store sales, drooling over gear that I can’t afford. I’ll never buy any of that gear but I like dreaming about it. I’ve bought too many shiny things that lost the lustre after buying them. I already have a great set of tools that do what I want.

your 1000,0000% right Kerry and I could not agree more the ISSUE comes when SOME folks wont accept that others like what they like and push their preference as the only "real" option ...

I have ALL options from spendy custom to cheapo SS
handwired boutique 1 off custom made to order tube amp head
mass produced tube combo amp
actual vintage SS amps
mosfet amps
modern SS amps
digital processors/amps/effects/multi units
and digital hybrid/tube (on the way I scored another VOX Vt20X today WHOOT WHOOT )

and you know what I get tones from all that make me smile...make me happy ... and make me forget about life for awhile

and isnt that what its all about>?

For sheer volume and unsurpassed clarity at high volumes, I'll put this rig up against anything.

Sounds the same on '10' as it does on '2' and to me, having complete consistency at any volume level is the best attribute of a live performance amplifier.
