I loved PLUNKING about on it ....... he was an EXCELLENT tenor sang in several choirs ...........his Ave Maria sung from the loft in a large Italian Catholic Church on Christmas eve..............could make you weep .....................at least it did Grandma....

this guy does an O.K> version

Somewhere in the 90s was able to see ELP live in a little 2600 seat theater in Davenport IA. It was an awesome show. Emerson was an absolute animal on the keyboards.

Edit: Ok. In reality. The dude went off. On one song while playing he climbed up on top of the piano (grand I believe) and was now facing the backside of the keyboard. Left hand playing what the right hand plays and right hand playing the left hand. Never missed a beat.

If memory serves, on Rondo he did a solo on the B3. Bouncing it around the stage. Spinning it in circles. Finally ending up on the floor…. On his back… with a B3 Hammond laying on top of him. Again. Never missed a beat.

Holy necro thread Batman.
I was just thinking about organ rock the other day after hearing Fudge play, You Keep Me Hanging On.
It never gets old.
That thick infectious groove that the trusty B3 has blessed us with over the years, strikes a "chord" with me.
I grew up on this stuff. Must have inherited it subliminally through Pops over the years. He loves jazz & blues organ.

Allman Bros., Argent, Deep Purple, ELP, Procol Harum, Booker T, Yes, Genesis, Vanilla Fudge, Lee Michales, Butterfly, were all part of it...

I was blown away by a pipe organ competition I watched on PBS, and highly recommend it if you like this kinda thing.
Never thought a pipe organ could sound so "heavy".

Love pipe organs.

And those of us that’s been around the block a couple times can almost always pick out of the crowd a B3 in a song. I suppose with 21 century technology it can more or less be digitally duplicated….. but the original is still the best.

And for the sake of this Illinois boy…. Neil Doughty of REO had a B3 on stage.
