Nita was taken to see Jason one day. I cannot even imagine the strength and love his parents must have, plus how he has learned to continue his talents that remain in his brain and ears.

I vote NITA for KING/Queen of Speed. Here is a show she did near our place.

My old guitar player (a guy you may actually know) used to be Jennifer Batten's star pupil. I think she's still the Queen of Speed. No offense to Nita, but Jennifer was/is next level.

I think we went off the rails here.
This turned into some weird debate on musical taste.
This isn’t about if you like Cat Stevens, DragonForce or anything in between.
I just want to see some head banging string ripping supersonic physics defying greasy lightning fast thrashing display of musical talent. (Try saying that three times fast!)

I would not see it as a debate, more so as display of the various influences we who are speedy and those less than speedy have in our backgrounds.

It appears that Ramo and Iron are going to be the clear winners on the Bonneville Salt flats land speed records on the TTR collection fretboard fanatics list.

Yngwie Malmsteen has an interesting opinion about speed. Many years ago I read in one of the guitar publications (I think Guitar Player) where he kind of described his attitude about it. To him, it isn‘t about speed for the sake of speed. That is actually secondary to him. He made the point that a piece has to sound good slow first. If it doesn’t sound good slow, it’s not going to sound good fast.

I think with rhythm work a human wrist / fingers can only move so fast. After that why does it matter?
It gets sloppy as F after but just a one take low E chuggy thing. I cannot move my hand any faster!

A more interesting concept would see musical performance posts outside of the normal, albeit small circle that have actually posted something, regardless of the amount of material. I mean ANYTHING. Then perhaps we can get some litmus test of judging criteria lmao

I was gonna post the Banjo player the other day.

Just reminded me of a new instrument to me and some clips I once saw of impressive speed.
