I want...

Always liked the Firebirds, going back to Allen Collins in Lynyrd Skynyrd and Johnny Winter. Never played a guitar with mini humbuckers however, nor P90s either for that matter

have 3 guitars with mini hums in the neck position, sound great. I prefer a full size hum in the bridge though. Firebirds are awesome, maybe someday I will own one.

never seen a neck through kit for ....well anything really---the one I recently purchased is a set neck (see link below) -- body is one solid piece rather than a center block with "wings" glued to it as Gibson did ...
My Firebird Studio is also set neck one piece (from what I can tell) body

Many wood gurus would argue the solid body set neck is "as" resonant......if not more so....than the neck through

I have had several (and currently have ) a neck through Peavey P/J bass
its no more or less resonant than a bolt neck P/J bass by the same mfct. --- it does not produce any better tone, period

IT is however way more finicky to weather adn climate and humidity changes... it does not stay in tune as well as the bolt neck and it resides in a case almost all the time unless I am playing because a neck/headstock break would be WAY more likely and problematic ....and costly ... than slapping a replacement neck on the bolt on .....

I love the way the set neck feels and plays --- but its "quirks" make it a case queen and not often used.
