Hypothetically, what's the TTR NGD Statute of Limitations?

If say, I had a friend here on TTR who maybe made a guitar purchase, but might have failed to post it here immediately 'cause he/she wanted setup adjustments settle in, maybe make a couple of
mods, and get comfortable past the golden post-honeymoon period before asserting any statements on quality, playability etc?

What are the penalties, punishments for holding back, if any? And, are the rules the same for NUGD and NGDs?

My friend could be just wanting to follow the rulez here and not tease or upset any of the local zoo animals, who may have reason to get a little surly, if it was the case.

All hypothetically speaking, of course.

Your "friend" is in deep doo doo...
the penalties:
You must listen to Air Supply, and WATCH it too !

Notice the 12 string sound, coming from a SIX string guitar? Hahahhahahhhahahhahahahhahhahah!
I have no sympathy for you, or your kind.

Official rules for when to post a NGD thread? Well you need to take a picture of it at the store when purchasing it and post it before leaving the driveway. Once you leave the driveway, it is no longer new, just like buying a new car.
Well this is clearly a used car kind of situation, so he will ask for leniency of the sentence

Anyway I snuck a few pics while he was doing some mods, but this is not yet an "official/official" announcement.
It's got some mojo still needs cleaning up

DSCF3765.JPG

He says heavy enough they had to load it into the back of his truck with a miniature forklift, and the driver was buzzed out of his mind,
so it comes with some relic/beauty marks, and a story

DSCF3761.JPG

Probably have to flip a couple of saddles under them fatty strings to get a bit more intonenation happening.
Don't need much, just a c-hair or two

DSCF3758.JPG

Didn't come with no poker chip but he had a fun one waiting, so on it went. Black tip replaced with aged creme

DSCF3759.JPG

OMG Second worst knobs he's ever used on a guitar. Weird, small and slippy, he told me he just can't even grab 'em with his phat fingers.
Creme speeds are already on the way from friendly TTR sponsor Music Lily - (I owe him a solid).
Very worstest knobs you ask? Chickenheads. Don't even. Not on a guitar thank you very much. Though, YMMV

Early on the to-do list for most any of my friends - Well-Hung Pro-Pins, jumbo oversize strap buttons
(Though truthfully, it had pretty decent ones already, second best stock buttons he's seen since Agile).
Of course, horsehide washer under it for teh Vintage Stallion Toanz

DSCF3757.JPG

Hopeful this will suffice for now. The extremely shy but handsome friend is still thinking about some things. Nickel covers, no covers. Double cremes? Zebra(s)?
What's in there already? Actually, not bad at all. Is the "cool mods, bro" aesthetic worth all the extra trouble?
Hmmmmm

NOBODY GAVE ME THE RULEBOOK, and if the regulations is all hidden in the "So anyway" thread, I don't have time to look

Dug out my bag o' knobs. I like the black strat knobs which kept it similar to stock, and at least they have some grip. Also, the labeling might help my friend learn what knob is which,
Oh, that exciting new guitar control layout experience we all get to share.

The chrome capped oldie hats looked real nice, if a bit... "trying too hard." they are my personal favourites. Plus, still seemed too hard to grip 'n twist with those.
Considered some chrome dome tele styles, interesting but too... modern-gearhead-pretentious?

First instinct in my brain says creme speedies, so might as well get used to 'em on this one, spare goldies will do for now.

goldies.jpg

Hadda take off the back to see what kind of pots had so much turn "resistance." Whatever they's are them's the big wheels.
Solid box style tranny/shifter. Nicely shielded cavity (paint) and cover (foil). looks like a cheap cheap cap. Nice joints. Not too much
junk, dust, etc. in the trunk. Seems like a faint line indicating 3/4 cap, which I didn't expect, wonder if true. Will know more
when my friend decides to pull a pickup. Right now, new strings came with. We'll play them out, and check deeper under the hood later.

Tuners are not impressive or interesting in any way, but workable. Nut is the black graphtech one. No grabs, nicely done, right height.
Might cut my own out of moosebone I have here. One of those mods for a shut-indoors blizzard storm week kind of times.

Neck a flatted med C, not too meaty, generic and boring even I'd say. Almost feels maybe a little telecastery to me. Needs scotchbritin'.
Rosewood is neither pretty nor plain. It's maybe kinda mottled, all over the place grainwise. Not overly dry, but I'll use my recipe, come string change.
Lemon oil, mineral oil, fresh-sqeeezed baby oil, you ain't done right 'til you soak in the THC/CBD oil. Every time you play, it's a groovy trip to planet Jam in the Wayfaroutman Galaxy
Actually I normally use mineral oil, have experimented with neatsfoot oil recently. Seemed aigh't

Could maybe use a bit less relief, but this is a long game thing. Let things all settle in. A bit whippy for my kind of playing, I wonder?
This is actually my only concern right now, maybe just have to watch how I approach this one, not a huge deal, my best rock star shapes are behind me.

It's a bit heavier than I like, estimate 9.6/9.8 ish, but no neck dive LOL!@!!! But, it seems to sustain much like the unrelenting howl of enraged
shriek demons in my head even with the loved/unloved underachiever/punch above their weight Duncan-Deprived Hickups she came with.
The reviews on these pickups are all over the place. Probably depends mostly on the instrument. I do know I don't enjoy logos on pickup covers.

Now if I could only find a guy makes a decent strap.

Happy Friday my bros. Maybe if my fingers heal up better this weekend my friend will let me play it some.
My god It's real slow going, and sure hard to wait!

Well, belated New Guitar Day announcements are handled by the Forum Undersecretary‘s Board for Absence Review (FUBAR). While FUBAR normally reviews periods of forum absence, overdue NGD announcements fall under their jurisdiction, as well.

In most cases, late NGDs are allowed without incident. However, FUBAR has the authority to issue a Standard Notification of Aberration in Forum Utilization (SNAFU). If you receive a SNAFU from FUBAR you will be asked to render an apology for the late NGD and buy donuts for the admins.
