Long time comin'

So the back story is that I have longed for a Silverburst Les Paul Custom since they first came out in 1979. Either I didn't have the money or the guitars I found were in pretty bad shape (strange mods, beat up, etc) so I had gotten to the point that I thought there were not any good ones left out there for sale. That changed Saturday - walked into my local shop (literally in my 'hood, just a few blocks down the street) and there it was:

Not a great pic, but you get the idea (this was before I gave it a polish). It's a 100% original '79, very light fret wear, not a single dent/ding and no bucklerash, the laquer has yellowed but the paint hasn't turned green as it does on a lot of them. It comes in at about 10.5 lbs, so actually on the light side for the vintage. The Shaw pickups are magnificent. Plays as good as it looks too. The 38-year wait was worth it.

there are no words ---------that can describe how JEALOUS I am ..... WELL DONE Lad ....very very well DONE!!!

Thanks guys. It's something I've wanted for a long time. I've owned 2 other Norlin-era Customs, and they are by far my favorites.
I really shoulda gotten some better pics to show just how clean this thing is.

The back is damn-near immaculate. If you look just under the "Made in USA" stamp on the headstock you can see where a small label was that had the name of the store that originally sold the guitar (I didn't remove it, the guy that runs the shop I bought it at said the person who brought the guitar to him took it off in front of him). Gives you some idea of how much the lacquer has yellowed.
It's also pretty rare to find one of these that has all the finish still on the neck, they tend to wear-through easily.

I tried to edit my above post and some of my words already disappear before I can modify them, that was weird.

Gball, I am not seeing your images, are they still working? I only see em as

Dammit... on my smartphone, I don't see any of gball's pics.

I see Robert's pic, though. BTW... Robert, you either need to shrink yourself a bit, or get some customed larger sized guitars built for you... :ROFLMAO:
