New Warmoth Guitar Build Day. I try not to start a new build until I have all the parts. Well this time it ain’t so. I have a few off days from the basement work as I have a contractor here doing the final phase of drywall.

So I teased the neck in Roberts thread looking for tuners. I bought the body last year and neck a few months ago. Got a set of P90s from the swamp (guess who) and so I started on it. Have installed the tuners, did my forstner bit route for the concentric pots, drilled a hole for the selector toggle switch and enlarged a hole for a Tesi kill switch. Also painted the cavities. Going to do some shielding work today.

It’s a Warmoth Amber body and a killer birds eye maple neck (not really a maple neck fan but this just oozed “buy me”). I always work a “W” into the name to give Warmoth their due. This baby is named after:

Amber
Birds eye

I call her “Wambird” :dood:

Yes, the body and neck are both all Warmoth work, including the finish. I didn’t spec this neck like I normally do. This neck just caught my eye and I was sold immediately.

I can't see the controls picture, but the rest is just knock out gorgeous.
That neck & body wood has more figure than Marylin Monroe.

It’s a latching kill switch. It grounds the output Jack. I can be practicing and just push that in and set it down. Then just pick it back up and leave off at the same volume. They make a momentary one to do that staccato like sound. That doesn’t float my boat.

Gotta a little more stick time on it yesterday. Added the ground lugs and grounded the pup cavities. Mounted the neck P90 but need to cut the bridge pups screws down so they don’t breach the term cavity. Also bolted on the neck as it’s easier to work on with the neck in place.

Finished up the wiring today and installed the second P90. Heading towards the finish line.
