Gold Tops - Why No Gold Hardware???

Just curious...the nickel looks a little out of place to me...did they ever offer a gold top with gold hardware???

Looks better to my eye.....

But, those multi-colored D'Addario ball ends on the strings really clash with it.

I actually quite like it, but I like it about $1500, not $3999.

Well, $3999.00 is expensive, no doubt. But, this is essentially a Les Paul Custom baseline, after all. That price tag is only a few hundred more than the usual MSRP of an LPC.

Ok if you got rid of the gold pickguard and those brass covers it would be alot better i think.the main gold hardware dont look bad.

$$ aside, I think the contrast of the two colors, adds a little something.....some character. All gold, would be kind of blahh.

Like a black LP, with black knobs, switches, pickups...it may be a bit much....oh, wait, I would like that. Never mind. Guess it's a $ thing.

Just looking at my gold top last night, to me eye, it would look better with gold keys, tailpiece and bridge, but keeping the cream trim...like a mix. The nickel just clashes to my eye.

I'd have to get the black plastic pick guard, myself. I'd be so afraid of scratching that gold guard.

Or maybe I'd get the all-gold model, and replace the guard with a black one, and store the original.

What about bright chrome? I think that would go with gold better than nickel.

I think it would be sharp with chrome p'up covers, too.
