I have.... but not often. My wife makes a sport out of shopping. Complete with end of quarters (walking to next store). Half time (lunch). And end of game.... leaving store heading home. Sometime several hours later and not one purchase. I’m the lady in the video. Passed out in the floor.

Me. I decide I need jeans or a shirt. Walk into my chosen store. Approach rack. Try on if needed. Make purchase without comparing prices. Leave store and drive home. Elapsed time. No more than 15 minutes.
 
While my wife sits in the car when I run into stores for me, I always come in with my wife and shop with her. Why? It's not because I like to shop her stuff, it's because of this:

If she goes in by herself, she feels like she's alone and can take her time. However if she's with me, the conversation always goes like this:
10 minutes in....
wife: "are you bored and want to go?"
me: "of course not! I'm fine, just hanging out." :)
1 minute later...
wife: "your face says otherwise."
...
wife: "fine we'll go."

Before COVID, the wife and I had a nice arrangement - I would "take" her shopping anywhere near a guitar store and I would "wait" for her in the guitar store. She made purchases more frequently, but my less frequent purchases evened things out quickly! I miss the old days.

NO, but I grew up shopping with my mom in the late 60's and early 70's. Her shopping trips seemed to take forever, but we had some pretty darn cool stores for a kid brother and sister duo to roam and make our own fun in while she did so.

We all come here to TTR with a wide range of backgrounds that brought us to our current stages in our lives. Some of us likely grew up with quite meager means, while others had modest financial resources and others came from or worked in jobs that led to quite extensive and significant stocks of funds to spend, save and invest.

In my case, I definitely was not from skid row or Appalachia poor roots, but pretty darn close. My whole childhood was filled with the horror of my own father's poor interpersonal skills and his stories of dysfunctional family, abuse and poverty that he and his 10 brothers and sisters endured while being the children of an alcoholic, coal mining father from the hills of western Pa.

With having my dad and eventually a stepdad who both had decent jobs with what became CSX railroad, I mostly escaped a destiny of being really poor if unable to rise above my circumstances and family backgrounds. To see mom happy with her store trips, and getting to spend time with her and all the wonders found within the establishments we'd shop, I guess it was almost like Disney at a way more affordable cost.

I also am pretty sure that for mom to shop on a limited budget for not only her clothes or shoes etc takes more time than if one has ample means. I also suspect she allotted a portion of the time to pick out the clothes and shoes my sister and I would need. It is fully understandable that to accomplish all a working mother could manage in her time off from work should be expected to not be a 5 minute affair.

Having said all that, how does it apply in the least to anything musical or like this thread is about? GIRLS in Guitar Stores.
Let me take a wild shot and say, as for me, I am just happy that I was able to be exposed to the love of music, arts, wildlife and nature, sports, and many other sides of life that allows me to appreciate the varying degrees to which men, women, children devote their craving for, tolerance for, or disapproval of any and all pursuits. Having said all that, Thank God for the likes of Orianthi, Tal Wilkenfeld etc who balance out the likes of women who either perform or surround their musical world as fans of so called music to things like Pentatonix or other Show tunes type yuck.

HAHA before I set out to post a message ( I had no idea what I intended to say) I will let you guess what................

Anyway, I THINK I was going to say, I don't know your reason for posting this lady, but so far without ever seeing her before, she seems quite lovely. Therefore, I am interested where the rest of the clip takes me. I hope it is a positive direction.

HAHA Ray, Before Covid and even before my Kathy, I had a nice shopping arrangement for myself too.
I typically would go to work and make my meager earnings and hope to have enough to make a trip to Walmart as needed to get food.

With my aversion to spending money, I would wander through the store and add maybe 7-15 food items to my cart. With each item, I would mentally add up the prices and think to myself how uncomfortable getting over $20 was putting me. So, before I ever would make it to the cashier, I would have to decide, ok what food do I want most, then put back as much as needed so as to not feel the pinch of excess spending. It was awful if I got to a point where the keepers had me over $25 and as high as $30. Needless to say, I am still the same.............. See any of my "HUNT for Building materials at the lowest prices possble" posts.

We don't ususally go in together, I usually truck over there myself. One of the last forays for both of us into the local music store was years ago.
She saw this hanging up on the wall.

Some of us are such lucky guys with our women. Jethro. It seems you got a keeper.

Mine has never once made an issue of any of my musical purchases. Despite her decent income and my near non existent one, I am fairly sure she is happy to see me happy as I have surrounded myself with a number of awesome instruments, drums, guitars, basses, and even my sweet $50 Banjo.

Can't argue with that. Sure hope ALL of us and ZZZZ have our ladies and men who feel and act the same.
