Spin Magazines 100 Greatest guitarists: BWHAHAHAHA

Solid list. I wouldn't kick anyone off of it, these are all talented players that belong there. I guess we around here feel there are sins of omission...but they kind of state up front that they aren't going for "guitar gods" and it doesn't necessarily take a blazing solo to be a great or influential player.

Isnt the most basic and simple requirement to be a great guitarist is to: i dunno, actually play guitar? I guess i missed the time when Jam Master Jay played a single note on any instrument let alone a guitar.

Alright by this standard, then i am officially lobbying myself into the ranking of the following 100 greatest lists:
100 Greatest American Civil War Heroes
100 Greatest Scientists
100 Greatest Swordsmen
100 Greatest Adult Film Actors
100 Greatest Heavyweight Boxers
100 Greatest Playwrights
And 100 Greatest Competitive Food Eaters

Thank you for all considerations!

I believe he actually did play, but that wasn't the point they were making with including him on the list. The point is that he was making music with guitars in it and blazing a pretty new trail along the way. Now, you may not appreciate it or agree with the methodology but he was vastly influential.
