Bad D String Harmonics

Take a look at the bridge. Note the incorrect D string saddle location required to get intonation set. Like I said, brand new strings this morning. Had the same problem with the old string.

Robert, I looked at the frets and they look fine to my eye. This guitar doesn't have high mileage on it. I put the gold hardware on about 2 years ago. The bridge was new and I don't run super low action.
 
Okay, per Don's suggestion I ran the D saddle all the way forward and back twice and then reintonated it. The saddle is now in a more correct location, but the ringing still persists. It's like ringing a bell every time I strum anything that includes the D string and it is always the same tone regardless of where I am on the fret board. It's gotta be the bridge. I'm going to order a new one when my wife isn't paying attention.

What amp are you playing through? Is the ring acoustically audible, unplugged?

Loose saddle???

I pulled out the bridge and turned the D saddle around and put it back together making sure the spring was engaged over the top of the screw. Seemed a little tighter and reassembled the guitar. I tuned and reintonated. It was good for about 15 seconds and then came right back.

Have you checked the bridge for collapse???
 
Perhaps a tiny strip of plumbers tape, while you engage in making that new bridge (that you mentioned earlier) happen? Yeah, I’ve got nothing....I’ve never had this happen to any of my guitars. I’ve seen ”bridge collapse” on other guitars....and heard rattling retaining wires on others, but a stripped out saddle...have not had to deal with one. I suppose you could replace the saddle itself(maybe pick up a set of nylon or string-saver).
