Just about anything Clint Eastwood.

The Shining
Taxi Driver - I used to be a big Robert Dinero fan; but no more. Politics aside he is just a miserable jerk.

Most of the better Tom Hanks films
Highlander
Terminator 1 & 2
Godfather 1 & 2
Goodfellas
Young Frankenstein
Shawshank Redemption
some of the better Bruce Willis SCi Fi - 12 Monkeys, The 5th Element
Not a huge Brad Pitt fan, but he is great crazy in 12 Monkeys.

Seven
The Usual Suspects

The Searchers
True Grit, The John Wayne versions

Reservoir Dogs
Fargo

Death Takes a Holiday

Casablanca, The Maltese Falcon, The Big Sleep (add 4 or so more Bogey films)
Bogart, Bacall, Bergman - Yeah!

oh my I'm way over 10.....

I was sitting here watching The Town and as it ended, I began watching the acid trip come to film: Fear and Loathing In Las Vegas. I was taking with my wife and mentioned that's one of my all time favorite movies, even though its completely off the rails. She said " You say every movie is your favorite" and that began a debate on " What IS my favorite movies?" And so I figured I'd ask the same to you guys!

In no particular order, if I had to name just 10:
1) Platoon
2) Scarface
3) The Godfather ( 2 is interchangeable and honestly just a continuation)
4) Fear and Loathing In Las Vegas
5) Django Unchained
6) The Exorcist
7) Full Metal Jacket
8) Goodfellas
9) A Clockwork Orange
10) Formula 51 ( a wildcard for sure but i love it for some reason)

Theres tons more that id hold in high regard but that's the trick: you gotta short change yourself! So lets hear em.

Why did i think Clockwork Orange!.....

Those are some great movies! Lots of good comedies in there. The Thing and Holy Grail easily could be on my list as well!

Carpenter's version of The Thing sent that movie over the top. I had always loved the original with Peter Graves, but John Carpenter really outdid himself with that movie. Speaking of Carpenter, I also loved Christine. That was another great movie.

Sg John's

Monty Python and the Holy Grail
Hunt For Red October

Now mine,

The Jerk (Numero UNO)
Pink Floyd Live at Pompeii
Outlaw Josie Wales
Das Boot
U 571
Machete
Cool Hand Luke
Caddy Shack

I could not make up my mind between Das Boot and Hunt for Red October. When I first saw Das Boot, and sat at the edge of my seat for three hours sucked into that movie, I threw my beer at the tv when they all got killed by that Spitfire at their welcome home party. After watching everything they escaped, only to see that pissed my off. Otherwise Petersen is a brilliant director. Up there with Wim Wenders and Werner Herzog.

Speaking of Wenders, Wings of Desire with Peter Falk is incredible.

Thanks John,

I can still remember how I saw Das Boot the first time. MY college friend lived on campus despite growing up 15 minutes away and having his dad as one of the college's Profs. We used to go to their house and watch movies once in awhile. Back in the days of Beta vs VHS, they had a Video Disc player. That movie was on one of those huge discs. I bet that disc and player would be quite collectible today.

I will have to check out Wings of Desire

I’ll play. So many, it’s hard to choose.... but here’s a partial list. May add more?

Bullitt
Hobbit and LOTR Trilogy
Matrix - first one
Down Periscope - Kelsey Grammer
Stripes
Blues Brothers
Star Wars Trilogy - the originals from the 70s
Lethal Weapons - all of them
Die Hard
Rocky Horror Picture Show
Mars Attacks

Edit:
Young Frankenstein
The Jerk

Some good ones. Forgot about Kelly’s Hero’s..... which reminds me Mash the movie should be on a list. First and third Indy movies are good. Second one sucked. Almost anything with Sean Connery in it is awesome.

OK OK I am going to post more GOOD GREAT movies no one has posted yet.

I won't claim them as my top 10 even though they all could alternate. Also, I would break the rules then.

Guess Who's Coming to Dinner
12 Angry Men
They Call Me Mr Tibbs
Rescue Dawn/ and Little Dieter Needs to Fly
Fast Times at Ridgement High
A Bridge Too Far
The Bridge on the River Kwai
Ghosts In the Darkness
Enemy At the Gates
Mad Max, Road Warrior and Thunderdome

I’m thinking if one posts up Fast Times one should also add “ Porky’s. “ :pound-hand:

As I read through these I keep thinking "Oh yeah, that too!!"
1st 2 Mad Max!!
I saw the actor who played Toecutter passed away last Dec., and learned he also played Immortan Joe in 2015's MM Fury Road.

Magnificent 7 - What a cast! Dont know much Yul Brenner but he was cool in that one.
McQueen, Coburn, and Bronson - Yeah!
Need to catch The Great Escape again; I saw a segment on the actual Stalag Luft prison camp in Poland on Mysteries of the Abandoned.
Mcqueen, Coburn, and Bronson again - (wait for it .......) - Yeah!

So much for 10, but I have lots of films I need to rewatch, and some new ones here.

2001: A Space Oddysey.
Kuprick was phenomenal; as mentioned A Clockwork Orange, and The Shining - Yeah!

The Dirty Dozen - Lee Marvin, Bronson again - yeah!
The Mechanic, Death Wish - yeah!!
