Yep, likely higher prices and lower quality. But maybe... weight relief?
Hard to believe Randall Smith is selling out to a corporate giant like that.
Kind of goes against his past business philosophy and practices.

Mesa has already been long cutting corners, you don't need to wait for Gibson....
And apparently sales have been slacking enough to cut the prices as well.
The design of Mesa amps was copied from Fender and Marshall; I have always considered Mesa as a "Johnny Come Lately."
It's never really been that impressive to me.

A pack of advertising hype, all of which can easily be shown to be fundamentally false and misleading.

Well, there it is then. Win/win for me - I play Gibson and Mesa, so it's one-stop shopping time.
Interesting so many people took it as an opportunity for a little Gibson-bashing. Still not sure why so many take part in this sport. You don't like 'em, don't play 'em, but I'll happily put mine up against anything you can throw at me,
