Never cared for Poison, Europe, Warrant or White Lion during the heyday of hair metal, but there were alot of great bands from that time like Motley Crue, Ratt, WASP, Dokken, GNR ( technically not hair metal if you ask me), Twisted Sister, Skid Row, Cinderella etc. They all had great riffs that stand up to this day

I did like Uncle Toms Cabin honestly, probably their best tune. Didnt care much for Cherry Pie or Heaven Isnt Too Far Away lol as for White Lion, Vito Bratta was a helluva guitarist but i didnt care much for the songs even though my dad had one of their albums.I liked warrant and white lion
Tesla was a favorite
Uncle Toms Cabin from Warrant was a cool tune.
Cheers
Same here but I only learned 1 Queensryche tune but never got to play it in front of anyone, throw in Sabbath UFO, Lizzy, ZZ Top, Zep , Cheap Trick, Triumph, and so many more, but no Poison.I did like Uncle Toms Cabin honestly, probably their best tune. That was the era i grew up remembering the most even though by definition, my generation should be the grunge and Nu Metal era. I did NOT like that music minus a few stand outs like Alice In Chains, Soundgarden and to some extent Stone Temple Pilots and Pearl Jam at times. The Nu Metal thing made me recoil in horror because every other kid playing guitar at the time i picked it up was hellbent for Korn and Limp Bizkit. I was on a warpath with Judas Priest, Iron Maiden and Queensryche at that time lol

That was a long time ago my friends my youngest son was born in 9-29-83 and a month later I was selling all my gear, in July of 89 I started playing again, rusty and no heart for covers, lasted until 93, then sold off the gear again ,, 2010 started playing again and here I am , still mostly a rhythm player, but in 83 I was faking my way along as a lead guitarist,,Thats the year of my birth, so he obviously knows aload more about rock and metal than i ever will and has a million times more experience lol
If you're a rhythm player then, you make a damn fine one by throwing in the licks! That was a long time ago my friends my youngest son was born in 9-29-83 and a month later I was selling all my gear, in July of 89 I started playing again, rusty and no heart for covers, lasted until 93, then sold off the gear again ,, 2010 started playing again and here I am , still mostly a rhythm player, but in 83 I was faking my way along as a lead guitarist,,
