No no, not heroin, the moddin' horse.
Haven't really done a project since I wrecked my hand.
And I guess it was bothering me, because I took those frustrations out on the last of the pointy bodies that I scored a while back.

They were cute and all, but with a couple of single coils, they were out of character for how they look.
Not exactly "surf" looking guitars.
So the red one was put back to working as is and was gifted to Adrian, and the black one turned green, and got a Floyd and a pair of Buckers...

It also got the stable but oh so ugly, 6 screw neck joint turned into a more natural looking 4 screw joint, loosing a couple inches off the upper bass bought as well.

The new project will be based on most of the same details with minor exceptions.
I may or may not cut down the body & neck joint, as I have a proper neck for it.
Depends on finding a donor neck. One thought I had magically turned into a bass amp...
Long story, but it had a great outcome, so it was providence as far as I'm concerned.
But back to the core of the gore.
I had a body with the wrong holes in it.
So I got into my Hackmaster frame of mind and with the help of some scrap wood, epoxy and some good ol' bondo and filled the holes.
Then I added in the thrill of a razor sharp cutter spinning at 24,000rpm, mere inches from my mangled hand, while it guided the router to do it's thing.

And after a shot of primer and some massaging, I now had me a Pointy Jr.

With a bridge bucker rout and the switch hole filled.

My freehand routing isn't quite up to snuff yet, as I was a bit shaky considering...
But the pickup mounting ring will hide my shame.

It felt good, to gaze upon my small accomplishment, and to get back to doing what I enjoyed.
More to come when we get some color and I decide upon a 4 or 6 screw neck joint.
Still may be more body work ahead.
