Yeah gball, obviously by the ocean. But inland has the great advantage of ZERO ZERO ZERO road salt to essentially render a car permanently rushing to become a rolling eye sore.
For sure man. When I first moved to California I lived in South Pasadena and Pasadena, and the climate there seemed to preserve cars and a lot of other things indefinitely. In fact, my wife actually drove a Super Beetle when we first got married (early '70's, I think '73, but I don't remember the exact year) and the bodywork was in remarkably good shape. We didn't have that car by the time we moved to the beach about 15 years ago, but you soon learn that everything ages quickly here - the car I had at the time, a 2003 Audi A4, started getting oxidation on the aluminum parts within the first couple months, and by the time I sold the car in 2010 it was showing surprising amounts of it, but no body rust.
