Seems like they should have dozed it and started from the ground up. They will never get that smoke smell out of that interior wood. Don’t ask me how I know THAT !Here is a pic of the inside Chris View attachment 46002
There is no charred studs at all, the place is just old wood, otherwise they would have removed the charred studs and painted it with kiltz primer, at least that has been the normal process on the other burns we have rebuilt.Seems like they should have dozed it and started from the ground up. No humidity at all just dry heat.Any humidity during truss work, Mitch? I last ran trusses and crane back around 2003 with a bunch of non carpenters. ( Home owners) The worst part of it was they had to go on fully completed Modular home sections that were open to the heavens. After getting the trusses on, and partway thru laying the sheathing, the skies opened up in downpours. Needless to say, the tarps and attempting to keep as much water out of the carpeted, sheetrocked, trimmed, kitchen, baths etc below, did very little to prevent damage. For me, I have to say, my friend's who's house this was, were penny wise, and dollar foolish.
That’s my motto brotherTake it slow and steady Mitch!
