Das ist lustig und so typisch für die Mitglieder hier.

I totally agree with Gahr about ego and greed. The local farm had signs on the meat chests that said "Please Be Kind, and Share! We get daily deliveries." Over the weekend, I saw the results of panic shopping start to rectify themselves at the grocery stores, except for bogrolls and anything containing Isopropyl alcohol. Not so up here in Maine. I'm not way up in areas like Presque Isle, or even more remote, so I don't know what it's like up there, but isles in the stores are still empty. The results of our company meeting is pretty much what's going industry wide, and world wide. There is a recession that has been brewing for a while, and the virus is throwing a big monkey wrench into recovering from it. Good thing people are also panic buying guns and ammo, or there would be no American manufacturing to give any kind of boost to the hedge fund folks. The trillion and a half dollars thrown at Wall Street could have been better used for preparing hospitals for testing and expanding care capabilities. On the plus side, gas is $1.65 a gallon in most places.

FML...
stay safe and sane my friends...

10% pay cut, 32 hour work week, and start taking one day PTO to make up the other eight hours until 6/30. "Things will be monitored and assessed along the way" according to the office people in Chicago. Also, all regional tech centers are to be closed, and no contact between employees. Don't know how that will work. There's a bunch of other crap too, like no overtime. Even if it's billable time that a customer is paying for to get a machine back on line.

hoping our crew can stay healthy ---they are all young strapping fellows-- without kids--so....fingers crossed-- at present we have 2 solid weeks of installs scheduled -- very busy -- how long that will last though and how long we can all stay healthy is a HUGE ????

Due to the toilet paper shortage here in SA, Goldmember has decided to limit his personal bowel movements to once every two days*. Will you join him in solidarity, brethren?

*terms, conditions, and limitations may apply. subject to change or cancellation at any time without prior notice. offer null and void in Guam and other US protectorates.

Average gasoline prices in California are currently at $3.30 per gallon for regular gas. One year ago the average was at $3.34! That's how F'd up this state is. About six months ago, our Governor had the balls to do some grandstanding and announce to the public that he is going to investigate California's high fuel prices. I think he forgot that he initiated and pass yet another substantial fuel tax and also increased restrictions on fuel delivery and production. What a joke!

And in this beautiful county of San Luis Obispo that I live in (... it really is!), its consistently one of the highest average fuel prices in the nation. As of today the average fuel price is $3.53 per gallon. A year ago it was $3.52. I guess the coronavirus doesn't affect us here... :rolf:

But seriously...
I'm retired and volunteer four mornings a week at a sanctuary for neglected, abused, and/or abandoned donkeys. Lot of work cleaning and picking up poop for nine assorted donkeys.

The owners are a married couple well into their 70s. Last year the husband came down with pneumonia and still has some residual effects from it. And per their request, they have asked me and all other volunteers to stay away for awhile. It breaks my heart that they have to face the burden of maintaining the donkeys by them lonesome selves. Catch 22: If I help them I may end up killing them! They are even isolating themselves from their grandkids who they adore tremendously.

I paid 1.99 pr Gal. today ................................on average its 2.02 to 2.09
which is down from 2.21 a couple months ago
