But why do You through the hassle of a laquer finish. Applying Tung Oil, Danish Oil, Clou Hard Oil or Shellac will You give great results a lot easier. (The oils all can be applied into a surface that can be polished)

Thanks Bea. I did not think Tung Oil got hard enough to buff. I have enjoyed using Tru Oil (a/k/a gunstock oil). Any thoughts on that?

The body came out good enough that it was difficult to avoid the glare! I am happy so far

My 2 cents...: From personal experience, a Tru-Oil finish will be a lot more durable, especially on a guitar that's being played, than a ( pure ) tung oil finish.
