Gibson is Flexing New Muscle

I have been so disappointed with the newer Gibson guitars I will never buy one for the rest of my life.
The last one is a DT SG 2015 who ever set that guitar up should be fed to the wood chipper.
The topper was a custom shop RO I had specked to my real 1960 LPS the pickups didn't work
I called Henry and told him who ever built that guitar take a close look at their lips and look for crack pipe burns
Henry hung up on me what a piece of trash. I called my friend JM Rolph had a set of pickups made and rewired the
guitar sounded great surprise they got the neck profile correct. A few weeks later Tom Murphy called me he built the husk
but did not wire the guitar. Brazilian rosewood finger board flitch mach top 8.25 pounds.
A friend got a true historic 1959 LPS $14k sounds OK but nothing to write home about. 9 pounds.
personally I think Henry J was an utter A$$HAT

I mean it really says something when artists are leaving Gibson in droves. Kelliher from Mastadon left them back around 2017 because they treated him like poop and didn't really pay too much attention to the things he asked for. Like a none-chambered body...which they went and chambered. Mastodon's Kelliher: I Left Gibson Because They Treat Artists Like poop. That Company Is Falling Apart

Zakk Wylde was another huge artist they had for a while and now its no wonder why he went and made his own guitar brand. sure say what you will about his designs (As much as I'm a fan of him, there are only a few guitars of his i would want...just a few...) but I think he went about it smart, the entire design including control layout I think has him safe from this whole lawsuit thing. No one would look at a Wylde Audio Odin and think that its a Gibson Les Paul, or the Barbarian and think that's a Gibson SG, and so on. (Ok the names for his axes are metal as hell!!)

Ok...so MAYBE might peg him on the Bloodeagle (the explorer one) I mean, thats one of the few i actually wouldn't mind having. But then again, its Zakk Wylde, im not sure if Gibson has the family jewels to go after one of the biggest heavy metal guitar icons like that.

Well I was till I saw the PRICE!

Maybe I will go buy a Dean Flying V -- or Explorer --- just to "vote" with my $ so to speak...........

Sam Ash has some great prices on Dean "V"s right now on reverb........319.00 --- free shipping........hhhhmmmmm

I'm not big on huge slab guitars with points sticking out all over the place
(even though I did play a bunch of weddings with a blue burst Dean Z...)
but I have to admit that I really like the look of that Wylde Explorer thing,
vertigo swirl and all. It needs lightening bolt fingerboard inlays though.

I like the Dean Z --- (I just dont like "V"s had one or two -- they are just fine if you play standing --- I never do-- so -- no thanks
but the Z --- that is something nifty

love my DEMONATOR
demonator2.jpg
weird shape BIG "F"ed up headstock --
warwick 2 part fully adjustable bridge -- active pups -- and neck through construction
grover tuners
brass nut
real abalone inlays

AND came with an HSC--- all for 175.00 BUWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
demon1.jpg

quality beastie--- they retailed for 7 bills new --- and still are listed for that on reverb without the case---
CHA CHING ;)

yeah baby--sweet axe for a sweet price ;) hELL THE wARWICK BRIDGE IS 60.00 ALONE ---

AND IT DOES SOME serious boom!

sPANK YOU
perhaps when we MOTM I can bring it for show n tell -- if you wish

things a beast--

I first played one at the DEAN FACTORY while taking the tour--I saw it hanging on the wall in the "samples room" and thought -- that is UGLY AS HELL -- its gonna SUCK --- look how wonky it is --- gotta be neck heavy ---

within 5 seconds I was HOOKED and had to have one! lol

the bridge also was NOT set up right and the action was very high this bridge has a TON of adjustment---

takes a bit of TIME and frittering to get it right but once dialed in its AWESOME
