Photobucket Phed Up

Hi All, my name is Chilipeppermaniac. I used to enjoy posting pictures that pertain to our guitars and musical interests. I used to also post some of drums, basses, regular life stuff etc and would save these in Photobucket to do so in various places online.

I am sure most of us know, Photobucket was a place many found convenient to load pics into and then post them in forums. ( I hate saying Fora)

Then Photobucket decides to extort us for money to pay for their service. Then for awhile it seemed they loosened up on causing pics to be unviewable once posted in forums. Now I am currently on the Restricted list due to having past 250 pics on Photobucket. SO, for the past week or 2, every so often I worked my way through transferring MY PICS I had on Photobucket back to my hard drive on my laptop.
SO, I am now down from over maybe 1300 pics there to now 187. In the next week or so, I will be down to 0 and Photophucket can kiss my ASP.

imgur.com and postimage.net. I use both since giving up on photobucket. . If I remember correctly (no promises)....postimage allows you to transfer directly from other online hosting services.

What Sysco said. Thanks jtees4 and nice to have you join here at The Tone Rooms
Since Pbucket did their thing, I began migrating my stuff back to my laptop HD and have some of my stuff on imgur, but of course am asking in this thread so I can maybe see which service I find easiest to use and will not dread going to just to do easy tasks like save and retrieve pics.
Another friend at the Marshall amp forum also mentioned a site called Mediafire that he likes.

I have a 4 terabyte external drive--- all my pics go there---- as well as job bids etc.
I can attach them here siml=ply with the "upload file" file button lower right of the "text box" when posting---

I think it was 60.00 on Amazon
its about the size of a deck of cards-- so vary east to "grab" in an emergency-- or if traveling etc---

I have an external HD reader too, Adrian. However, it has my HD off my other laptop that took a dump. Glad the HD was not the culprit as it had my business info on it too.

Here is how I loaded pics on Imgur and now load to here. I used "Linked Bbcode" in Imgur ( reminder for my addlebrain)

These days, I use USB flash drives to store everything. That way, it's easier to transfer. I remember my first one I bought was 32 megabits. I recently gought a 32 gigabit for 5.00. It's too easy.

I don’t bother with external image hosting sites, anymore.

I just host my photos right here on TTR. Or, I directly upload them, as eSGEe was describing.

Thanks Smitty, It seems some like ETSG and Marshall AMP forum have put me in need to have them elsewhere hosted as I cannot simply upload a file in PM, only in the threads over there.

I am thinking it is another ALEX modification to the forums for the detriment.
