Compared with this student everybody is a player.
You rock, I can tell from your avatar. :D

I have no opinion on maple v rosewood, only preference based on how it fits in with the overall guitar. Also, what is nutz??

There are no maple fingerboards. They look like maple but they are all some horrible claggy lacquer that eventually wears away in patches and looks dirty. Rosewood every time for me.

I voted rosewood.

However, there are some exceptions. I do like the off-white Strats with maple. I also think a black Strat with a maple board and large headstock is a nice, aggressive-looking combination.

Other than that, I much prefer rosewood. Similar to what Don said, I don't care for the dirty appearance it can develop.

I figured there would be a great divide here...I like the Rosewood better when I play, but the Strat just looks wrong to me without maple and 3 single coils...

But it's not about looks it's about playability...

Maple for me.

The ultimate Strat player is no doubt what he wants.

See my post #11. Last guitar on right.
It's only a Beck signature issue. When I ordered it I didn't know they made Custom Shop (bummer, next time :().

I like a maple neck on an all black Strat or Tele, just for the looks. Aside from that, it's all rosewood for me! My last acoustic is an all rosewood Martin. It smells better than freshly dusted wh0*€house!
