HELP---(its not here yet should be mid week next week)

I would like to learn to use this for both bass and guitar--- because well "EVERYONE" says it is the "secret weapon" to great sound from either -- that EVERYONE is using a compression pedal especially in recording...
I have 2 VOX amps at the moment with built in compression that IMHO -- blows chunks-- and makes the signal sound WORSE-- its a "compression" emulator I guess in a modeling format so VERY limited to on/off and and "adjustment" knob--

this should net better function--

ANd should be univerally welcome among all from my 45.00 Marshall to the MESA/BOOGIE GOD OF TONE --- (yes its an F30 but I call it "G.O.T." see I G.O.T. a MEsa lol--- sorry

Anyway -- well here we are a new pedal on the way --- new hope for better sound?
Will it make me the next Ace Frehley?
Did Ace use compression? -- Did they HAVE compression in '74?

I have a head ache.......I feel I should at least hold my hammer for comfort to get through this.......

BY WORSE--- to be clear -- when I pick a string with no compression the actual SOUND of the PICK ITSELF on the string is not OVERLY noticeable and if it is its SHORT quick and gone--
with the compression on -- the pick attack is FAT and ROUND and VERY noticeable ---

Could that just be the crappy low end on board modeling amp compression???

Which hammer?

Well after Smitty's explanation in the other thread I took 30 minutes--- plugged the JOYO ULTIMATE DRIVE into the Mesa -- CLEAN channel and did an "A/B" with the dirt and countour and clean + Joyo -- and -- o.k. -- WOW -- Im starting to get it --
same amp and I was able to basically set the same overal settings between the 2 amp channels-- then flip back and forth ---- totally different tones-- neither rteally better or worse -- just "different" --- shite--
well loks like I need to dig that orange thing you put in the box out and dick around some more with it...........Im ....intrigued for sure

Yeah. You’re not trying to make the pedal “be” your sound. You want the amp to be your sound. The pedal is just there to give it some extra zing.

When it comes to OD and distortion, I’m a bit old-fashioned. I want those driven tones to come from angry tubes!

But, sometimes the pedal can “persuade” the tubes appropriately.

Thank you Ivan...

ALL-- I have a confession---- I just used a JOYO (and a "hacked" BOSS Distortion) ----on my MESA (oh my) --- on the CLEAN CHANNEL..........and.........Im stunned---floored-- OVERWHELMED--

-- the set up--

MEsa-- check
2 channels -- clean and gain-- check
set knobs on both channels IDENTICAL -- except gain around 7:00 on the clean -----

Play gain channel--- sounds good familiar lovely --- switch to clean channel nice tasty cleans--- hit pedal and WAKA WAKA WAKA

--- WOW!!!! WHOLE NEW TONAL PALLET! ---adjust pedal knobs to taste and find MANY new tones that were NOT in the MESA before ------

IMPRESSED I AM YES!

Many complimenrtary and NICE sounding tones---

many -- that were basically IDENTICAL to my Marshall--- or my PEavey Bandit-- BUT --- again WOW---

now I really cant wait for the compressor to get here!!!!

will check the videos Ivan -- and see if I cant learn how to PROPERLY use the compression to get favorable results----

YES-- Im a bit slow on the uptake ---- never really OCCURRED to me to USE A DIRT PEDAL -- on the CLEAN channel of an amp with gain-----but its a whole other animal eh?

Ive always gravitated to amps with just well anything from "great" gain to --- INSANE LEVELS of gain (Peavey Bandit -- Marshall-- MESA) and I jsut road the GAIN wave that the Mfct. put out --- but well wow..........very impressed.

TBTH I didnt hear a huge difference -- and my computer is running sound through a BOSE acoustic wave system .... sitting on my desk---

Good luck with your new pedal, Swamp Fella.

T.B.H. I've always found Behringer pedals to be awful and sold them (or given them away or just thrown them away) sharpish. However, I hope this one is fantastic and does everything you want from it: compression rather than depression.
