Whiskey In The Jar - Motorhead Style

Here's a fun song we threw down in just about an hour total production time. No mistakes were pulled out and nothing was overdubbed. I re-mixed it a little guitar-dominant, but that will get re-worked during final mastering.

Do you feel like we captured a Motorhead vibe here, or did we miss the mark???

The guitar lead is a one-take, late-night improv and not at all a clean cut, but I think it follows the song structure fairly well. What are your thoughts on how the lead fits into this version of the song???

Either way, I hope you enjoy the track... :)

Sounds awesome Robert. You sound like Lemmy . Didnt Metallica cover that song ? Seems that was originally a Thin Lizzy song.

Right, Goo!

Its a 400 year old folk song and Lizzy brought it to a modern arrangement first. When M etallica covered it in 1998, some thought they wrote it!

It's unusual to like a newer version of a song compared with the one you grew up with.
I grew up with The Dubliners versions of the Irish classics so they can't be bettered regardless of how much better you do it ;-)

Agreed!

You know us silly Americans...I grew up listening to Triumph, Mountain, Deep Purple, Motorhead. I'm not sure we had anything that compared to the Irish classics....

Love your version Robert, does capture that Motörhead vibe for mine. You’ve got those Lemmy vocal tones happening for sure.

Just in case you haven’t seen it before, this version was my first exposure to this song.
