I swore off any more music projects, feeling like i had too much on my plste already, then, just like that, I get asked to play guitar for an 1980's/1990's rock/metal cover project, based on my recording of Ace Of Spades that I posted on Bandmix a few months ago.

When they mentioned "Diamonds and Rust," " Immigrant Song," "Another Thing Comin," "Stone Cold," and "Man On The Silver Mountain, " i just couldn't say no!!!!

Better dust off those cabinets, cuz here we go again!!!

I saw them in concert open for someone (years ago), and I now have a clone of the pedal they used. It's time for some Lack of Communication.

I don't play in a band but I'm sure the drama can get pretty deep...

Sometimes, its so bizarre you cannot even explain it...guys complaining about the color of a guitar, or that we won't have the right "look" without Flying V's, or not wanting to tune to E-Flat for the vocalist, or storming out when asked to move their gear to the other side of the stage, fights over who plays a solo, how a song is arranged, whose amp is closer to the front of the stage...it's really frustrating at times...

So, the singer isn't sure about tuning on a couple of the songs, so I am taking the Gibson Les Paul (tuned Standard) and the Gibson SG tuned E-Flat. That way we can switch quickly if we need too. Amp wise, I been demoing all my amps the past few days. I think I will take the DSL40C and the 1997 VS265 Valvestate and see what opinions others have on the tone...

So, the singer asked me to knock out a quick demo of just me playing 'Breakin' The Law' in standard tuning in the original key of A major, just to get a feel for it before tomorrow night. This is my stock 2016 Gibson Les Paul (498T/496R) into Blackstar 100 Watt and direct out into my DAW using Audacity.

Not anything stellar, but thought you 1980's metalheads my dig my twist on the Judas Priest Classic!!!
