Very good bass....Steve is awesome.

Tell you something though....in all my years of playing bass, one of my favorite bass songs is Belinda Carlisle's Heaven Is A Place On Earth....that song is a workout.

I'm not as proficient as Steve so my technique isn't as good, but I can nail this other style and its a good workout in terms of notes per measure...I never wanted to be a bass player - I got involved in it as a necessity because we often were short a bassist. I'm not a great bassist by any means, but I can play well enough to record my own bass parts...

Flea at his funky best, and if this song isn't the poster child for the Fender Single coil "chimey" sound, I don't know what is.
This stuff came out before my time of discovering RHCP before Hillel died, but I will argue with anyone who would make any argument that Hillel was not a monster guitar player. In the vein of his style, he was one funky axe man with a defined yet varied style all his own.
