    ...maybe I don't.

    Maybe, I was mistaken.

Maybe, the sound I like is the P90s starting to work and fuzz up all by themselves:

Maybe the fuzz pedal is for those days when your ‘52 Goldtop and your ‘53 Fender amp are in getting some work done on them at the shop?

That is a pretty sweet sound he’s got going there!

I don't find that to be a pleasing sound at all.

P90s are definitely in a class all by themselves, I really like them. I have a set of Dream 90s from GFS just to try them a while back and they are keepers.

I only have 3 guitars with P90'S. I could tell the amp was in desperate need of service.

'bout every 8-10 years I convince myself that I "need" a P-90-equipped guitar, that it's some magic tone ingredient that I have been too stupid to add to the stew.
So I go get one. And then I realize they are just not for me, can't do the things I want well and do do things I don't want constantly. So I sell it. Rinse and repeat.

For some reason I don't seem to learn my lesson, but this time I am gonna try to resist.

I have a couple guitars with three P90 pickups. Some are very nice P90s and some are not so nice.
None of those guitars sound that bad. That beautiful guitar sounds terrible. I have heard bad speakers and that problem goes deeper that just that. Annoying is the word of the day.

I really dig Mark Agnesi's R. L. Burnside-style playing in the beginning of the demo part of the video!

We clearly have different ears - I like the neck puppy sound in that video a lot.

The neck pup tone: That tone is very typical when not using a pick. Very old-school sound. Mark Agnesi nailed it, and I dig it.
